Sulphonylureas, biguanides, meglitimides, alpha-glucosidase inhibitors and thiazolidinediones are the popular classes of oral hypoglycemic drugs, used in diabetes treatment. There was also a study that concluded that salba seeds significantly reduce high bloood pressure in diabetes patients.

Patient education and compliance with treatment is very important in managing the disease.
